The LiSyM Cancer Status Seminar 2025 took place from April 8 to 9, 2025 in the Townhouse Düsseldorf and was a total success.

With 83 participants, the seminar provided a platform for discussing progress in the network. The event was opened by Nicola Scholz from the e-Health Department of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), who emphasized the importance of network research.

The seminar program was dense and informative. The first day focused on the presentations of the consortia. The SMART-NAFLD, C-TIP-HCC and DEEP-HCC teams presented their latest research results and findings. Presentations from data management and program management highlighted the important infrastructure required for a Germany-wide research network. A joint poster session in the evening rounded off the program of the first day. It offered participants a good opportunity to discuss specific projects in a relaxed atmosphere and to deepen existing collaborations.

The second day of the seminar was dedicated to interactive workshops and direct exchange. Here, the researchers were able to work intensively on specific topics in smaller groups. The workshops focused on the areas of clinic, omics and modeling, which underlines the multidisciplinary orientation of LiSyM Cancer. Another important part of the second day was the presentation of example processes in the network from research to clinical application. This clearly demonstrated how the network's basic scientific findings can be transferred into potential clinical applications.

The LiSyM Cancer Status Seminar 2026 will take place in Dresden.
