About the Venue

The SBMC 2026 is an on-site event taking place at the Mannheim Baroque Palace – One of the largest historic residences in Europe. The palace was build in 1720 but was severely damaged in the Second World War. In 2007, for the 400 year anniversary of the city of Mannheim, the reopening of the restored palace was celebrated. Using the palaces inventories and old photos, 800 furnishings were returned to their old place, returning the magnificent shine of the original.

As a venue for academic events, historical film production, concerts and events with partners, the Mannheim Baroque Palace has many functions today and is a stimulating meeting place for university members, academia and visitors from all over the world.

The event venue is barrier-free.
